Canadian NHL center (Washington Capitals) was born in Pont-Rouge, Canada, today in 1968.
He played in the National Hockey League for the Boston Bruins, Washington Capitals, Buffalo Sabres, Ottawa Senators, Phoenix Coyotes and the Montreal Canadiens.
Juneau played in the 1979, 1980, and 1981 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournaments with a minor hockey team from Pont-Rouge. Drafted by the Bruins in the 1988 NHL Entry Draft, he was a star at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, scoring 71 goals in four seasons and earning a degree in aeronautical engineering with a 4.0 GPA. After college, Juneau played for the Canadian Olympic team and led them to a silver medal at the 1992 Albertville Games.
He joined the Boston Bruins after a contract dispute, enjoying a standout rookie season in 1992–93, where he scored 32 goals and set an NHL record for assists by a left wing with 70. He was later traded to the Washington Capitals in 1993, where he played a key role in their 1998 Stanley Cup Finals run. Juneau’s career also included stints with the Buffalo Sabres, Ottawa Senators, and Montreal Canadiens before retiring in 2004 with 156 goals and 416 assists.
Known for wearing No. 90, Juneau briefly wore No. 39 with the Ottawa Senators due to team policies.
